😳 Someone find me a real human – I'm drowning in AI generated content!

In today's issue of The Push, we'll wonder about the future of AI and our own role, as creators, especially in making content that feels human.

Good morning, everyone!

It's Berto here!

AI is all over the place. You know, even when I'm scrolling through social media, I see stuff and think, "Did AI make that?" Sometimes it's hard to tell. So now, when I'm online, I'm always second-guessing what's real and what's AI. Crazy, right?

Today I want to pick your brain again. Do you think that in an era dominated by AI, with tools like ChatGPT readily available, is there a risk that everyone will kind of produce similar content?

Many believe that AI-generated content lacks soul. I tend to agree, BUT only if you solely rely on AI for generation of your ideas. To me, if you are able to guide it effectively, and keep creating your OWN ideas, with your own tone of voice, you can do wonders by significantly amplifying your online efforts. That’s where the magic truly is.

For today's discussion, I'm curious: Do you think the human touch will gain value as AI becomes commonplace?

Time for a quick read…

The value of human touch in the AI-Driven Creator Economy

In an increasingly digital and AI-driven reality, creators who embrace and showcase their human side, especially through interactive mediums like video and direct engagement, are on their way to gain a distinctive edge.

It’s no doubt that as artificial intelligence amplifies the creator economy's capabilities, there's an irreplaceable element that remains crucial: human connection. As the digital world becomes crowded with content, the creators who genuinely resonate are those willing to bring their humanity to the forefront.

The media scenario has evolved dramatically with the rise of the internet. Previously dominated by a handful of traditional media outlets, the online world now celebrates a multitude of content creators, each contributing to a creator economy worth an estimated $104.2 billion. These creators, ranging from influencers to course creators, have largely been empowered by social media platforms and the tools they provide.

However, as this space becomes more saturated and competitive, there's a risk of homogeneity. Traditional methods of reaching audiences are not as effective as they once were. With AI technologies, such as OpenAI's GPT-3 and 4, voice cloning, text to image generation improving by the second and content recommendation engines, offering advanced content creation and curation solutions, there's an increasing danger of lacking the human touch, leading to an impersonal online experience.

The antidote lies in revealing one's human side. While technology can facilitate, assist, and amplify, it cannot replace the authentic human connection. When creating content question “Could this be created 100% by AI?” if so, change your strategy. By appearing in videos, engaging in real-time interactions, and cultivating genuine relationships with your audience, you can stand out in a crowded space. This strategy not only strengthens the bond with existing followers but also attracts those that will be craving even more for authenticity amidst the digital noise.

The tip here is: Engage more in formats that AI still can’t replicate that well. Do more videos, appear more in front of the camera, do live streams. Think of everything else that is being done in an unprecedented higher volume with the help of technology - and avoid it, or at least make it more YOU.

Consider the global phenomenon of live-streaming, where creators share real-time experiences, engage directly with viewers, and answer queries on the spot. Platforms like YouTube and Twitch are thriving because they offer a more authentic, 'human' interaction. This contrasts with highly polished, AI-optimised content that may lack spontaneity and personal touch.

While AI's influence in the creator economy is undeniable, that, ensuring continued human connection is crucial. Embracing our innate human characteristics—empathy, spontaneity, critical thinking and authenticity—can be the defining factor in the success of creators in this digital world that’s constantly evolving.
